The new 2017 Update 1 media cases with software media are being mass-produced now and will be available for shipment by late November. The 2017 Update 1 software will be on a newly mastered DVD with full install capabilities. The install program recognizes which product(s) are installed and applies updates appropriately.
Licensing/Upgrading
All customers owning 2017 version licenses are entitled to this Update 1 release, No new licensing is required.
What’s new in System Platform 2017 Update 1?
The Update 1 release is the adoption release following the System Platform 2017 (in June of this year) addressing previously missing capabilities such as alarming and trending along with other enhancements. As such, new customers and prospects that have no engineering investments in InTouch for System Platform are strongly encouraged to use the native visualization, InTouch Operations Management Interface. System Platform 2017 Update 1 new features and capabilities include the following among many others:
- Engineering Efficiency
- Apps SDK - enables 3rd party developers to build WPF and web applications for InTouch Operations Management Interface. Provides the necessary toolkit that enables the conversion of existing .NET controls to WPF.
- Runtime Application framework – complete UI UX framework includes device faceplates,
navigation, UI styles and layouts
- User Experience & Usability
- Alarm Aggregation based on model Navigation tree
- Out-of-Box, context-driven Apps that provide greater situational awareness
- IT Compliance
- Ability to run Window Maker and IDE no longer requires ADMIN privileges to machine
- Expanded Connectivity
- OI Web services – simplicity of integration to SOAP and REST based web services
- MQTT enhancement - device Time-Stamp Support. Allows MQTT data collection to be time stamped with the date/time from the edge device instead of the timestamp from the OI server PC.

- New Cross Reference utility provides improved performance and an intuitive search, sort and filter method for tags being used in the application using a grid view.

- High-speed, long-term retrieval can now accelerate old historical data (auto-summary backfill)
